** In Russia the general rule for dialing long distance is, the total numbers of
digits you dial when you call long distance inside Russia is always ten. Only a few
big cities like Moscow and St.Petersburg have 7-digit phone numbers. Some little
cities can have 5-digit numbers, so 2 digits are added to the area code. When
two digits are added they may make a difference, for example there are lots of
little towns in the Ekaterinburg region with area code 343 - XX.
